Mission Statement

The Breakfast Mission of Covington

We are pleased to announce that The Breakfast Mission of Covington (BMOC) has modified its Mission Statement and changed the location of its kitchen.

As President of BMOC for the past 8 years I have seen our relationship with the Street Family of Covington morph form a service mentality, to a consuming desire and a genuine love for The Family. All I can say is that this is God the Holy Spirit at work in my life. This change in attitude has seen BMOC move form only providing a breakfast, to now providing breakfast, sharing the word, and taking the time to counsel, listen, and love. There is a term in the missionary community that describes this phenomena.

Miss Susie and I have "gone native!" And we have never felt more fulfilled and content in our lives, thank God!

Now for the changes:

The new Mission Statement: The Breakfast Mission of Covington (BMOC) will support the homeless and the hungry children of God in Covington, Kentucky and the Northern Kentucky area. This support will be accomplished by providing food for the body and the Word of God for the soul and spirit. This will be done in a way that demonstrates the Love of God to the human beings of these communities in a manner that reflects God to His children.  The Breakfast Mission of Covington will also support the non-profit organizations of Covington which share our mission.

BMOC originally started as a dining room at The First Christian Church of Covington, which provided a dine-in breakfast once a week. But, as time passed, we progressed to providing carry-out meals and serving three breakfasts a week. Serving the homeless and hungry of Covington was and still is our primary calling from God and because of our new home at The Incubator Kitchen Collective, we are now able to provide breakfast 5 days a week.

These breakfasts are now in the form of a breakfast sandwich due to personell capacity. In the future we hope to return to a full breakfast menu.

In addition to providing breakfast sandwiches to The Family, we now also provide breakfast sandwiches to organizations which administer to The Family.

Those Organizations Include:

Lords Gym of Covington

Welcome House Veterans Shelter

Welcome House Respite Center

Fair Haven Rescue Mission

Florence Christian Church

Twin Rails Sober Living

Rose Garden

Exquisite Care Nursing Facility

As I share with The Family: "The testimony about your relationship with God is not a matter of what He has done for you, but what He has done in you."

I can assure you that I, Tom Edwards, would not have been involved with BMOC in any manner if it were not for the Holy Spirit of God and the fruits of His spirit in me.

Galations 5:22-23 This is my testimony: "God has changed me! And I am a new creation." 2 Corinthians 5:17, Amen!

Acts 1:8 "The Holy Spirit empowers believers to be witnesses not only in their local areas but also to the ends of the earth."

I want to thank our partners for their continued support which allows us to witness and serve local areas.

May God bless you and keep you.

Tom Edwards
